Andrew McTaggart (BMus Hons)
Andrew, 23, obtained his BMus (Hon) in June 2008, and PGDip Music from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in June 2009. He has sutdied with Michael Bawtree, Christopher Bell and Alistair Mitchell. During his time at the academy he won The Florence Veitch Ibler Prize for Oratorio Singing in 2009, and was runner up in the Maggie Dick Award in 2007 and Jean Highgate Scholarship in 2005. He has worked with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Choir of Scotland and has conducted the Glasgow Male Voice Choir, the Rosslyn Ensemble, and is the Artistic Director of an educational charity called Little Larks, which recently had a 5 star review from Michael Tumelty at the Herald.

Andrew is a Baritone and has performed in the premier or Love in the Blue Corner by Gareth Williams. He has also sing the roles of Copelius in The Tales of Hoffman, Bob in the Little Sweep by Britten in Aberdeen International Youth Festival, First Commissioner and Second Officer in Dialogue des Carmelites by Poulenc (RSAMD) and Captain in Eugene Onegin (RSAMD). Andrew has also been a soloist with choirs around the country performing in Karl Jenkins 'Mass for Peace' in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall, Haydn's Nelson Mass, Requiem by Faure and Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach, St John Passion by J.S Bach, MacMillan's St John Passion, Purcell's Ode to St Cecilia's Day in the Edinburgh Festival and Five Musical Songs by Ralph Vaughn Williams with the National Youth Choir of Scotland. He was recently heard on BBC Radio 3 singing the Baritone solos in Howard Goodall's Requiem: Eternal Light, recorded in Edinburgh in September 2008.
Andrew became Musical Director of Troon Chorus in August 2006.
Andrew Thom
Andrew was born in 1981, the youngest son of former Troon Chorus conductor Archie Thom. Andrew started piano lessons late age 9, and made the natural progression onto organ at age 14. He has never received formal tuition on organ except from his father, so is more or less self-taught.
Andrew was Choral Scholar with Glasgow University Chapel Choir from 1999-2001, during which time he was also rehearsal accompanist with Good Shepherd Chorus, Hillington. Andrew is best known for his compositions, mostly religious choral works, the first being a Requiem Mass written aged 15. Glasgow University Chapel Choir sang the premier of Andrew's 'Ave Verum Corpus' whilst on tour in Gent Cathedral,
Andrew plays bass guitar with local indie-rock band 'Marshall Chipped' whose song Bet That'll Look Good In The Daylight' was recently BBC Radio l's download of the week!
